General Information

Meetings are held in the Council Chambers located at the Gilbert Municipal Center, 50 East Civic Center Drive, Gilbert, Arizona, unless posted otherwise.
A meeting schedule is approved each year.
Council Meetings are held on Thursday with Town business beginning at 6:30 p.m., unless posted otherwise.

Open Meeting Law

Meetings of the Council and Boards and Commissions are required to comply with the Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 38, Article 3.1, commonly referred to as the
Open Meeting Law. Meetings are public, except for executive sessions. Open Meeting Law materials may be accessed in the Attorney General's Arizona Agency Handbook,
Chapter 7
and the Arizona Ombudsman's Open Meeting Book.

Agendas and notices are posted at least 24 hours prior to a meeting or event. Addendums and updated materials for upcoming agendas will be posted at 12 noon the day before the meeting date.
Agendas are removed from the website after the meeting.

Members may attend in person or by telephone. The times listed for agenda items are estimated. Items may be discussed earlier or in a different sequence.
Draft minutes or legal actions are posted to the website within three working days of a meeting. The draft minutes contain all legal action taken.

Notice to Parents:

Parents and legal guardians have the right to consent before the Town of Gilbert makes a video or voice recording of a minor child. A.R.S. ยง1-602.A.9.
Gilbert Council Meetings are recorded and may be viewed on Channel 11 and the Gilbert website. If you permit your child to participate in the Council
Meeting, a recording will be made. If your child is seated in the audience your child may be recorded, but you may request that your child be seated in a
designated area to avoid recording. Please submit your request to the Town Clerk at 503-6871.
